About Marco Brena

He began his musical adventure at the age of 6 singing in a local choir, at 8 got in touch with his first guitar and moved to keyboards, bass and drums:

There is a lot of music around the world with his name, about 600 compositions and 20 records; you can find some of them on the best web stores (Amazon for ex.). He counts many collaborations with record companies (BMG, Ipnotika, Etnoworld, etc.) and with primary and childhood schools as a music teacher (about 16 years). The artistic path began at about six years in the simple choir of the city, learning the basics of Gregorian chant, more and more fascinated by music, he began playing guitar at the age of 8, but his true inspiration came at 10 years old when he took private lessons of piano. At 14 he formed a Led Zeppelin cover band playing bass and keyboards and performing live. Since January 1991 he has been working as a composer of classical and new age music within the normal activity with various groups, recording different demos. In May 1991 he bought a Hammond organ mod. T522 of 1971, this organ will undergo several changes over time to become in all similar to an M100. In October '94 he began his collaboration with Sweet Jane experiencing a huge live success (more than 100 concerts in one year), and finishing in second place at the Mantova Rock Festival. In 1995 he resumed his classical piano and composition studies with maestro Marco Giuppone from Bergamo and began working as an organist, also collaborating on Dance music productions on Megablast Records. In May '96 he was summoned to London to make a CD based on the 70s Hard Rock, still playing bass and keyboards. In August he returns to Italy and works with other groups and as an audio technician (Celentano, Pongo, Pettenati ...). In '97 he enrolled at SIAE as a composer and began using the name "MARK BRAIN" on productions of Megablast Records and DXS. To note in this period the continuous production of his own music. In 1998 he began collaborating with the band "Livin 'Soul Dream" with which he composed the hymn "A cry for peace" against violence in the stadiums, broadcast on radio and television and used by various associations including the association G.Ferrara of Bergamo (it is available, free of charge, to anyone who requests it). His high experience in the field of Hammond organs allows him to work as a technician and especially as a demonstrator on behalf of various specialized companies including Organ Planet at the thirteenth Second Hand Guitar in Milan. In 1999 he founded Rising Sun, a Deep Purple tribute group, with which he performed in various parties and participated in "Thirty hours for life" in September 1999 in piazza Vecchia, Città Alta - Bergamo. In October 1999, he began promoting his Celtic shadows demo CD and collaborated with the Morzent concert band as a composer. In January 2000 he recorded a demo of 5 tracks of progressive rock genre together with singer Massimo Dalla Tor, this work is distributed through the internet. In April and May he collaborates with the musical band G. Donizetti of Brembate Sopra for the preparation of La traviata by G. Verdi for 4 voices and band, the concert took place on May 1st in Brembate Sopra. On the occasion of Xmas, commissioned by the musical band of Brembilla, he composes the Xmas Suite, suite in three movements, and transcribes by rearranging the Cum Jubilo Mass and some Christmas songs typical of the Gregorian tradition for voices and band. Several concerts follow with the collaboration of the Jubilate polyphonic choir of Ponteranica directed by the maestro Fausto Dolci, enjoying great success. Always fond of music for cinema and theater, in the month of March 2001, on commission from the Teatro della notte group and the Brembilla musical band, he composed the musical commentary at the opera Owls as angels of Father David Maria Turoldo represented in June in Palazzago directed by Angelo Mazzola. He also attended courses for teaching children in elementary and middle classes obtaining a diploma in music therapy. In the spring of 2002 he concludes a contract with Ethnoworld for the realization of a CD of Celtic music which comes out in October (Marco Brena - Celtic Shadows -M.A.P. Milano distriduzione). The "Marco Brena Celtic Band" was born, followed by various concerts including the Franco Parenti theater in Milan and participation in Isola Folk 2003. In spring 2003 he published some tracks on the "The best of celtica" compilation (IT-WHY 2003- 2CD ), and in September the new Celtic cd "Electric Celtic Land" is released again with Ethnoworld. In the month of July he concludes the writing of the book "The rhythm of music", the book is a music course dedicated to children of elementary classes. The piece England is also included in the compilation "SAMONIOS - Celtic New Year in Music 2003" published by Terzo Millennio / SELF. In 2004 he mainly deals with his teaching activity, both in elementary schools and in the New Music School of Brembilla as a teacher of piano and guitar. In June 2004 he takes part in the Celtic Connection event in Agrate Brianza (MI). At the same time the project "The celts on the organ" was born, Celtic and medieval music played on the organ, and the relative cd was also made (May 2005). This will also be followed by the cd of the concert of December 4, 2004 at the church of Terno d'Isola (BG) with the addition of flute and percussion. In spring 2004 he began to be interested in music therapy. He also collaborates with the RIBES consortium, in collaboration with the Valle Brembana mountain community, for the production of promotional videos of some high schools, including the hotel institute of San Pellegrino Terme (2005) and the Professional Training Center of San Giovanni Bianco (2006). Meanwhile the concerts of the "The celts on the organ" show continue (Rovetta, Capizzone etc ...) including percussion and vocals in the organic. He also devoted himself to the study and research of the medieval repertoire concerning the Cantigas de Santa Maria and the Carmina Burana (around year 1200). He continues his teaching activity at the Music Farm music school in Berbenno, he also continues the production of music with the albums "Back to the 80's disco music" (2011), "The white rose" (2011) and Binaural music for health in which experiments with healing music. Continuous research in the instrumental field leads him to experiment with musical instruments that have marked history including the theremin and various similar electronic oscillators. He is also a writer, and in November 2011 he published the story "A night without the moon" available on the internet in e-book format (amazon-kindle etc ...). There are many records he has recorded so far and the productions of ambient music for client record companies, he received his degree in theory and didactics of music in Tampa (USA). Use the names White eagle DJ and Harem Power DJ for production of EDM music obtaining 5 licenses in the USA, has also obtained the SEN / SEND training certificate for teaching disabled children in London in 2018 and another music therapy diploma in 2019.
